About

We listen, act, and transform

My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. I believe in building real connections with my clients—showing up authentically, being down-to-earth, and meeting you exactly where you are. From there, we work together to help you move toward where you want to be. My role is to help you tap into the strength and motivation that already lives within you while also acknowledging the real-life circumstances and systems that shape our experiences. I provide compassionate, culturally responsive therapy that empowers individuals to grow into their most whole and authentic selves. Your mental health and overall well-being matter deeply to me. I often remind my clients that transformation is possible—you are a beautiful butterfly in the making, and I am here to support you as you navigate life’s challenges and learn to soar. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland with over 10 years of experience in the human services field. Over the course of my career, I have served in many roles including therapist, group facilitator, clinical case manager, service coordinator, home visitor, supervisor, program manager, and clinical leader. Currently, I serve as the Director of an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC), where I oversee all clinical and case management services. In this role, I lead a team committed to providing high-quality behavioral health care and ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they deserve. I earned my undergraduate degree from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. My passion for mental health led me to pursue a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Phoenix (Philadelphia campus), followed by a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Perinatal mental health is an area that is deeply personal and profoundly professional for me. When I was pregnant with my son and navigating life after his birth, I experienced firsthand how complex the pregnancy and postpartum period can be. While society often paints this season as purely joyful, many mothers are also navigating exhaustion, identity shifts, anxiety, depression, and the overwhelming responsibility of caring for a new life. That experience strengthened my commitment to supporting pregnant and postpartum women. Maternal mental health deserves the same attention, care, and urgency as physical health, yet emotional struggles during pregnancy and after birth are often minimized or overlooked. This conversation becomes even more critical when we talk about Black maternal health. Black women continue to face disproportionate disparities in maternal health outcomes, including higher rates of complications, mortality, and untreated mental health conditions. These realities are not about strength or resilience—because Black women have always been strong. They reflect systemic inequities that deserve acknowledgment, advocacy, and change. Supporting perinatal mental health means creating spaces where mothers can speak honestly about their experiences, receive culturally responsive care, and know they do not have to carry everything alone. As both a mother and a clinician, I remain deeply committed to advocating for maternal mental health, increasing awareness, and supporting women through one of the most transformative seasons of their lives. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, volunteering with my church, reading, and traveling. And if you’re feeling overwhelmed because, let’s be honest, sometimes life really be life’n—please know you don’t have to navigate it alone. Support exists, and seeking help is a powerful act of strength.
